The Gabbert’s Community Home was the first of three design and idea show homes coordinated by David Yates in partnership with Gabbert’s Furniture Company.
This was a pretty radical concept for both the homebuilding and furniture industries at the time - a stand-alone showcase home, open for over a year, benefitting both the homebuilder and the furniture store.
The Community Home was located in Plano, Texas just south of Parker Road off Midway Road. The home was several miles north of Gabbert’s Midway/LBJ location, and gave the company an easy entry into the booming North Dallas/Plano/Frisco homebuilding market.
